Now
Here's my now page. It's a place I publicly share and prioritize what I am working on. Thanks to Derek Sivers for this idea!
Last update: July 4th, 2026
- Adjust to my new role as an Architecture Principal and pass the probation period.
- Play with the music team at Fellowship church.
- Continue my music and guitar studies with Pablo Mendoza.
- Ship the MVP for the CMMS
- Exercise at least 20m daily
- Continue posting at least twice a month
Achievements Q2/2026
- I started on my new role as an Architecture Principal at Inception, I'd say I'm on track to completing my probation period successfully. I contributed with 2 major ADRs for a large and complex project we are building.
- A good friend asked me for help on a CMMS he is building, he is not from a technical background but he has a few companies asking him for the software. He built something with ChatGPT and people wanted to use it, but he doesn't know how to put it in shape for production, I put taleemi on hold to partner with him.
- Failed miserably in exercising
Achievements in Q1/2026
- Started rehearsing and training with the music team at Fellowship church
- Launched latinos.ae, it's being used by a few people in the latin community here in the UAE.
- Soft-launched taleemi.ae
- Found a new role
- Got my Sleep Apnea fixed, got a nose and uvula surgery and I'm feeling much better overall, it's amazing how much my quality of life has improved after recovery
- Participated in my first project with Pablo Mendoza and other students online. You can see it below. I misunderstood the instructions and only recorded myself playing the lead parts assigned to me and not the rhythm guitar part
Achievements in 2025
- I had a writers block, more like "I don't feel like writing anything" kinda thing, I will explain it in a blog post.
- I finished and launched ThirdParty, a side project I made open-source. Read more about it in the website.
- I reorganized my online presence. I finally got some time to sit down and create a nice looking "about me" page and directed my root domain there, while keeping the blog here in blog.iffm.me. You can see it here.
- I've made HUGE progress in another of my personal projects which I intend to launch in Q1/2026, let's see how it goes.
- I started blog post ideas and started developing them to have posts until August 2026.
- I made it to the Music team at church! I passed the audition.
- I now play the guitar and study music more regularly, still need to adjust and make a better use of my time.
- I came back to reading also. I am finishing my first (and only) book of 2025 as on November.
- I played at the Church's latin community Christmas gathering along with other fellow Christian musicians.
Achievements in Q2/2024
- I had a "writers block" and spent a bit over a month without writing or publishing anything, it turned out I was burnt out from my latest project and all the stress was coming out. I'm back into my normal rhythm but I guess I'll be less strict in the number of posts and I'll focus more on writing better ones.
- In terms of growth, I can see visits are increasing but subscriptions are stuck, I need to figure out why and what additional value I can offer to drive this up
- Didn't do much on my book this quarter and it's a shame, I have to catch up on this
- On my music life, it looks like I won't be able to reenroll on classes with Pablo again, I caught up on the lessons though and I'm practicing more on the spare time I have, my goal for the next quarter will change to "organize my music learning" and also find people to play with.
Achievements in Q1/2024
- I've been consistently posting on the blog and keeping a backlog of drafts I'm working on while scheduling the finished articles to keep a consistent pace, I think there was only one week when I failed to post twice.
- I'm still working at BCGX, it's been two projects since the last update, I need to write about all that
- Finished a couple of chapters about API design, I'm thinking of adding a small API project to complement the theory.
- I enrolled again on guitar lessons with my all-time teacher Pablo Mendoza but had to quit for a while because of lack of time to put in the needed effort.
